In CLE, Cavs coach Mike Brown has formed "The Committee," a group of four veteran players who "have semi-regular meetings with the head coach in his office and cover everything from disciplinary matters to travel plans to key strategy decisions."According to an article in the Cleveland paper, "It's not a democracy, but the group of leaders act as a buffer and a sounding board for issues, big and small."
This season, among the things the group has discussed with Coach Brown is punishment for a player who missed the team bus, team travel arrangements, and practice times.
Says Coach Brown:
"I think the group covers the whole team, from the young guys to the older guys, from the guards to the big men. If I hear there is a concern or I have a concern, I call a Committee meeting."
