Clips, Hornets get better with additions of Camby, Posey

Marcus Camby may have been surprised by the trade that sent him to the Clips, but it was a good move for LA, who gave up nothing (but agreed to take on his contract).

I know Camby's injuries and age could be a factor, but the Clippers needed another veteran to play alongside Baron Davis. With BD and now Camby, the Clippers have two bubble all stars.

Camby is a excellent defender and a underrated shooter. With Kaman inside, Camby will be a nice complement with his ability to shoot from the elbow areas.

Moreover, if Al Thornton can build on a solid rookie season (he put up 40 against MEM late last season), the Clippers have a real chance to finish among the top eight teams in the West.

In New Orleans, the Hornets got better with the addition of James Posey. Posey filled a "winning role" when he played in Hubie Brown's system in 2004 and he played a significant role for BOS last season.

Here's what Celtic teammate Rajon Rondo had to say about Posey back in April:

"He's a champion. He knows what it takes to win. He's been through situations. He's been through a lot of adversity, as well. He's a great leader. He's a great veteran guy to have on your team."

I'm happy for JP and his new contract, but a little surprised at the what NOH paid him. The Hornets obviously feel they're close and this is one more piece to get them to a title.
