No days off

As is the case with a point guard, when a team's quarterback -- the on-field leader and a guy who touches the ball on every play -- is the hardest-working player who teammates respect things tend to go well.

It's why Raiders coach Tom Cable is pushing his 23-year-old QB JaMarcus Russell, who helped OAK to an upset win at DEN two weeks ago, to keep working:

"Everyone else may get an off-day on Tuesday, but he doesn't. He's got to find time to come in and work and study and get his hands on the early part of the plan as soon as possible and start to work. Once he really makes that part of his every-week routine and really commits to that, he'll be wonderful. And he's doing it."
