How to get "on the way to where you want to be"

Great quote from New Orleans QB Drew Brees on teammate Reggie Bush's struggle to break through on the professional level:

"I think he's definitely humbled. We've all had that time in our career when that's happened to us, when we have to take a step back, put everything in perspective and almost start from scratch and say, 'What type of player do I want to be? What do I want to be remembered for? What do I want to accomplish?' … And you work backwards — short-term goals, accomplish this, accomplish that, and you're on the way to where you want to be."

"[When you're struggling] you take the offseason to evaluate. I had mentors. For any young player, you have to have a mentor, or set of mentors who have gone through this."
