The structure of your practice is a key to your success

Had to pass along a couple of thoughts from Bobby Knight from Milan Gajic's newsletter:

-- "I'm a strong believer that the structure of your practice is the singularly most determining reason for your success or lack of success as a coach."

-- "The biggest waste of time in any practice situation is free-throw shooting. We, at no time, allow our players to do free-throw shooting. Shooting work is controlled, it's competitive, there is pressure involved in one form or another."

-- "If we don't force our players to react to things, if we don't put them in tough situations, then it's our fault when they can't react to them in a ballgame."

-- "If we can become quicker mentally, we can recognize things quicker, anticipate quicker, and automatically become quicker physically."
