You try to do the best you can

New Suns coach Alvin Gentry began his coaching career in 1977. His 32 years of experience is one reason he feels less pressure now than he did early in his career.

"You learn a little bit more every time you're put in this situation," said Coach Gentry, a head coach for the Heat, Pistons, and Clippers, and an assistant for Larry Brown, Doug Collins, and Pat Riley. "For me, I think this is the most relaxed I've been in this situation. I don't feel a lot of pressure. At this stage, when you get into your mid-50s, you just try to do the best you can, and you really don't feel like there's a lot to prove."
